Ritondo Criticizes Kicillof's Security Policies

The president of the PRO block of Deputies, Cristian Ritondo, harshly criticized the lack of security policies in the province of Buenos Aires, accusing Governor Axel Kicillof of showing no interest in addressing insecurity. In a radio interview, Ritondo described the situation as a 'mess' and pointed to Kicillof as the main cause of political corruption in the fight against crime and drug trafficking.

Ritondo, who played a prominent role as Minister of Security during María Eugenia Vidal's administration, questioned Kicillof's statements, who recently claimed that combating drug trafficking is the responsibility of the national government as it is a federal crime. In contrast, Ritondo argued that the province of Buenos Aires has the obligation to address street-level drug dealing and carry out intelligence operations to dismantle criminal gangs.

In this sense, the PRO legislator highlighted the actions taken during Vidal's administration, pointing to a joint political decision among Vidal, former president Macri, and former Minister of Security Bullrich to combat crime in the province and at the national level. Ritondo recalled that during that period, operations to dismantle drug dens were regularly carried out, an action he believes has drastically decreased today.

Ritondo questioned Kicillof's stance in justifying street-level drug dealing as an acceptable means of livelihood, stating that this attitude has contributed to the worsening of the security situation in the province. He emphasized that the responsibility lies with the provincial government and stressed that the people of Buenos Aires are aware of this, questioning Kicillof's lack of accountability.

Ultimately, Ritondo concluded by reaffirming his perception of Kicillof as a governor who evades the security problems in the province and seeks excuses in the national government, citing ideology or incapacity as possible reasons behind this stance.
